Chu comes to Sochi as one of the most experienced players on the American hockey roster, one that is thought to be among the best the U.S. has ever sent to the Olympics. She will be making her fourth appearance at the Games, winning silver in 2002 and '10, and bronze in 2006. Chu has played in 234 international contests with Team USA - serving as captain in many of them - while recording 66 goals and 112 assists. She had two goals and four assists in five games at the Vancouver Olympics, where the U.S. ultimately fell to Canada in the gold-medal game. Her speed will be an asset for the team's up-tempo style, as will her knack for scoring. Chu is the NCAA's all-time leading scorer and assists leader, finishing with 197 assists and 284 points while earning All-American honors each of her four seasons at Harvard. She also was a four-time nominee for the Patty Kazmaier Award for college hockey's top women's player, winning the honor in 2007. Chu will be a coach on the ice in a sense for the U.S., having served as an assistant for the 2007-08 Minnesota-Duluth team that won the national championship.
