Partners with Matt Mortensen, Griffall will make his second Olympic appearance in Sochi as the duo tries to break the German stranglehold on the doubles' discipline. Griffall also represented the U.S. in the 2006 Games in Torino, teaming with Dan Joye for an eighth-place finish. Sliding with Mortensen, the pair has notched two top-10 finishes on the World Cup circuit this season, doing so on the North American stops at Park City, Utah, and Whistler, British Columbia, and was the top American team in the World Cup standings with a 10th-place finish. Griffall and Mortensen also helped the U.S. place second in the team relay at Park City, helping the quartet hold off the Austrian relay squad for second. They also contributed to a fourth-place finish in Whistler Park, missing out on a podium finish by .083 seconds as they are in the mix for the first Olympic medal awarded in this discipline. The pair is hoping for better results this time around in Sochi after finishing 17th in the Pre-Olympic warmup during the 2012-13 World Cup season.
