Career Highlights:

Bowman enters her first Olympics as a serious medal contender in the ski halfpipe after reaching the podium 12 times - five of them wins - in 20 competitions since 2009. Her career really began to take off in 2012, a season which was highlighted by an AFP world championship. She maintained that success in 2013 with a gold medal at the Winter X Games and a bronze at X Games Tignes. One of the top-ranked halfpipe skiers in the world, Bowman went through several ski racing programs at Sierra-at-Tahoe before picking up freeskiing and quickly falling in love with the sport. The California native is the reigning AFP overall champion and has placed in the top two at her two most recent World Cup events, including a victory Jan. 12. Her lowest finish in World Cup competition actually came in Sochi last February, when she finished 11th, but she has come in fifth or better at the other six events.
