Career Highlights:

After taking 25th at the 2002 Olympics, Schoch made serious strides toward becoming one of the top riders in the world when he took home silver in the parallel giant slalom and bronze in the parallel slalom in the 2003 world championships. In the 2006 Olympics, he trailed his younger brother Philipp by an 0.88 margin in the first run and was unable to make it up in the second leg of the parallel giant slalom final. While Simon ended up with the silver medal, Philipp - who had also won in 2002 - became the first snowboarder to win two golds in the games. It was only the third time in Winter Olympic history that two brothers claimed gold and silver in the same event. Simon gained the upper hand in the sibling rivalry shortly thereafter, defeating Philipp in the parallel giant slalom at the 2007 worlds. However, he came up short of a medal with a fifth-place performance at the Vancouver Games three years later. After taking fifth in the parallel slalom and sixth in the parallel giant slalom at the 2013 worlds, Schoch takes his fourth - and perhaps final - shot at his first gold medal in Sochi.
