Career Highlights:

After coming up just short of the podium at the 2010 Games, Legkov is hoping to take the next step in front of the home crowd in Sochi. Legkov finished fourth in the 30-kilometer pursuit in Vancouver, four seconds behind gold medal winner Marcus Hellner and 1.2 in back of bronze medal winner Johan Olsson. It was a memorable 2013 season for Legkov, who became the first Russian to win the FIS Tour de Ski last January. The 30-year-old also picked up World Cup victories in the 50-km freestyle mass start in March and 4x7.5-km relay in December. Legkov is currently ranked third in the FIS overall standings, fourth in distance and 48th in sprint. He made his Olympic debut in Turin, where he finished 20th in the 50-km freestyle and 37th in the 2x15-km pursuit. Legkov's resume also includes two podiums at the world championships. He is a near lock to finish in the top three in the 50-km freestyle this time around, and bringing home the gold would hardly come as a surprise. His biggest competition should come from Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby.
