Career Highlights:

Li will try to one-up her overall world title in 2012 with Olympic gold when she makes her Winter Games debut. The Chinese short track team is counting on her to help continue its recent success, particularly after four-time gold medalist Wang Meng broke her ankle in training Jan. 16. If history is any indication, Li will be up to the task. Along with her overall title, she took first in the 1,500 meters and was a member of the winning 3,000 relay at the 2012 world championships. She also finished second in the 1,000 meters. Li was part of first-place relay teams at the 2011 and '13 championships and has earned 11 of her 12 World Cup gold medals from relays. Her only individual first-place finish on the circuit came in the 1,000 meters in December 2011. She's earned 30 total World Cup medals and 14 in individual events - either the 1,000 or 1,500. Li earned a personal-high 13 medals during the 2012-13 World Cup season, including a second-place overall finish in the 1,500 meters. She won four of her five medals last season in relays, finishing third in the 1,000 in September.
