Marvin will again be manning the backline for Team USA in Sochi, making her second straight Olympic appearance after helping the Americans take silver four years ago. She recorded three assists in five contests at Vancouver, where the Americans came up just short to Canada in the gold-medal match. Marvin has amassed 20 goals and 45 assists since her debut in international competition back in 2006, most recently highlighted by her recording the second-most points among defensemen at the 2013 world championships. She had a goal and three assists in that tournament as Team USA took the gold, exacting a measure of revenge against the Canadians and building some Olympic momentum for Russia. Marvin played collegiately at Minnesota and was a nominee for the Patty Kazmaier Award as the nation's top women's player in 2008 and '09. She also played professionally in the Canadian Women's Hockey League, helping the Boston Blades capture the Clarkson Cup as league champions in 2012-13.
