Career Highlights:

This will be the second Olympic appearance for Kessel, who recorded a goal and an assist in six games for the silver medal-winning US team in 2010. He has played internationally for the United States every year from 2003-10, except 2009 because of a shoulder injury. One of the game's pure snipers, Kessel scored 30 goals in four consecutive seasons from 2008-12 and registered career highs with 37 goals, 45 assists and 82 points for Toronto in the final year of that run. He has 31 goals in 2013-14, leading the Maple Leafs in most offensive categories. Originally drafted fifth overall by Boston in 2006, Kessel spent his first three seasons with the Bruins before he was traded to Toronto on Sept. 18, 2009, in exchange for three draft picks. Kessel was awarded the Masterton Trophy for overcoming testicular cancer and continuing to play during his rookie season. He missed only 11 games following cancer surgery. Kessel's brother, Blake, currently plays for Orlando in the ECHL, while his sister, Amanda, is a member of the US women's Olympic hockey team for Sochi.
