MADRID (AP) The Spanish Cycling Federation says Olympic road race champion Samuel Sanchez will miss the London Games because of injuries sustained at the Tour de France.
The Spaniard broke his right hand and injured his left shoulder after a crash during the eighth stage on July 8.
Spanish cycling team coach Jose Luis De Santos says "although physically he appeared well, he continued to feel pain in his hand and his shoulder."
He says that Sanchez has struggled to hold the bar and change gears.
