Career Highlights: After extensive playing time at the World Grand Prix this summer, Miyashiro will be making her Olympic debut to provide depth at the libero position and also as a serving substitute. Miyashiro played 43 of 48 sets in helping the U.S. win a third consecutive World League Grand Prix title, highlighted by her 18 digs in the gold medal match versus China. Miyashiro finished eighth among liberos with an average of 1.42 sets per set. She helped the U.S. to a bronze at the Pan Am Games in 2011, averaging 2.35 digs in five sets, and saw limited action at the FIVB World Cup last November when the U.S. secured a spot in the Olympics with a second-place finish. At the collegiate level, she set the University of Washington record with 2,382 digs and an average of 5.36 digs per set. Miyashiro joined the U.S. program in 2010.
