Career Highlights: Beisel earned a spot in her second consecutive Olympics with an easy victory in the 400m individual medley at the trials. She later placed fifth in the 400m freestyle. Beisel narrowly missed a medal at the 2008 Games as a 15-year-old, finishing fourth in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 backstroke. She captured gold in the 400 IM at the 2011 world championships for her first international title. After winning the 200m back in the 2009 nationals, Beisel defended her title in that event the following year. She's won five SEC individual championships at the University of Florida and was named SEC Female Swimmer of the Year in 2012. Beisel made the 2006 Pan Pacific team as a 13-year-old after finishing second in the 200m back at the nationals that year.
