  • Career Highlights: Rummel finished eighth in the eight at last year’s world championships, but he’ll participate in his first Olympics this summer, teaming with Charlie Cole, Scott Gault, Glenn Ochal on the fours crew. Rummel brings a wealth of international experience, taking fifth in the four at the 2010 worlds, winning gold in the pair with coxswain in 2009 and finishing first in the eight at the U-23 world championships in 2008. Rummel, who moved from Copenhagen to the United States in 2000, started rowing the following year in Pittsford, N.Y. Rummel was on the varsity eight at Harvard for three years. While with the Crimson, Rummel competed in three grand finals at the IRA national championships and won the Eastern championship in 2007 when he was also named first-team All-Ivy League.
