Career Highlights: Bowsher is tasked with the resounding challenge of bringing home the United States' first individual medal in men's modern pentathlon since 1960. The first-time Olympian has finished in the top three internationally at four competitions over his career, including one in a team event. Bowsher won a bronze medal at the Pan American championships in 2009 and a gold at the NORCECA (North America, Central America and Caribbean) championships that same year. He also claimed silver at a World Cup event in 2007 and was a member of the winning team at the 2010 Pan American championships. The U.S. Army specialist is a four-time national champ, and won junior titles in 2003 and '04. Bowsher was a swimmer during his four years at W.T. White High School in Dallas before graduating in 2001. He began competing in modern pentathlon after seeing a recruiting flier at a swim meet.
