Career Highlights: The 2011 and '12 U.S. champion in trampoline is making her first Olympic appearance, as she became the only American entry in the competition by finishing 10th in the qualifying round at the 2011 world championships. She helped the United States to a fourth-place finish at worlds that year. Vinsant competed in the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics in 2010, placing a disappointing fifth after a slight mistake on her final skill touch. However, Vinsant enters these Games as the top-ranked U.S. woman in trampoline and the first U.S. woman to medal in a World Cup since 1996, having taken bronze in China in June. She took up the sport in 2000, when, while taking a dance class, saw that a gymnastics class was taking place right before it. She proceeded to tell her mother that her dance class began earlier so she could get there and watch the gymnasts perform. She is coached by six-time trampoline world champion Dimitri Poliaroush.
