  • Career Highlights: One of the most versatile and decorated U.S. female cyclists, Bausch will finally get her chance to compete on the Olympic level. A seven-time national champion, Bausch was a member of the U.S. long team that was up for consideration to compete in the 2008 Games. Though she has won plenty of races and enjoyed numerous podium finishes, the highlight of her career came during the 2010 Pan-American championships when Bausch teamed with fellow Olympians Sarah Hammer and Lauren Tamayo to post a world-record time of 3:19.569 while winning the team pursuit. That effort came one year after Bausch was part of a track national champion team pursuit squad and also won a Masters road national championship in the road race and the criterium. She was a member of the team pursuit group that finished fifth at the 2012 world championships. Bausch, Hammer and Jennie Reed earned a silver medal in the 3-kilometer event at the 2011 world championships and are expected to team up again for the same race in London. Thanks to her success on the bike, Bausch also is a coach to female riders. She credits her passion for cycling as one of the main reasons she was able to overcome a severe eating disorder more than 10 years ago while pursuing a modeling career in New York.
