His best performance in the Summer Games was a sixth-place finish at Athens in 2004, but he could be primed to improve upon that after reaching at least the semifinals in all four Slalom World Cups in 2011, including an appearance in the final round of World Cup No. 2, where he ultimately placed eighth. He ranked 10th among men kayakers in the final 2011 World Cup standings. Parsons has nearly a decade-and-a-half of experience in major international races. He’s renowned for his physical strength, which helps him excel on the large waves of whitewater. Parsons was named USA Canoe/Kayak Male Athlete of the Year in 2004.
