Career Highlights: A former road cyclist, Archbold has enjoyed a good deal of success since transitioning over to the track. He gained prominence on the youth level by winning New Zealand’s road cycling national championship in the novice division in 2004 and 2005. Archbold did not skip a beat when he moved up to juniors, finishing second in the individual pursuit in 2006 and winning the event - as well as the 25k points race - in 2007. That same season, he also finished first in the points race at the Youth Olympics. Since racing at the elite level, Archbold posted a victory in 2009, three in 2010 and seven in 2011. He finished second in the omnium at the 2011 world championships and fifth at the 2012 worlds. He will be making his Olympic debut in London.
