Career Highlights: Villumsen was born in Denmark, racing for the country at the Beijing Games and placing fifth in the women's road race. In 2009, she became a citizen of New Zealand and, one year later, began competing for her new nation. A three-time world champion, she’s one of the favorites to reach the London podium after placing second at the 2011 world championships time trial. Health issues forced her to withdraw from the New Zealand road championships in January, but she has been building up her strength since. More recently, Villumsen finished fifth at the three-day Elsy Jacobs and third in the Stad Roeselare.
