Career Highlights: A favorite to win gold at the Beijing Games, Baldini was ranked No. 1 in the world at the time when he lost his spot on the team due to a failed drug test shortly before the Olympics, where Andrea Cassara took his place. Cleared of wrongdoing the next year, Baldini went on to win the individual gold medal in the world championships - defeating Cassara along the way - and was the individual European champion in 2009 and '10. With two golds and four silvers in worlds competition - and five total golds from the European championships - Baldini should again be considered among the favorites to make the podium in London. He is ranked second in the world behind Cassara.
