Career Highlights: Sandeep Kumar, a rower from Rajasthan, represents India in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls category. He, along with partner Manjeet Singh, qualified for the 2012 London Olympics by virtue of a third place finish at the Asian Continental Qualifying Rowing Regatta beating several other top Asian rowers in extreme conditions. He has been training at the Hussain Sagar Lake in the National Rowing Camp since 2005 under the watchful eye of Dronacharya Awardee Ismail Baig. There is a huge responsibility on his shoulders as he and his teammate look to bag India’s maiden medal in rowing at the Olympics this year.
