Career Highlights: Baljinder Singh is an Indian long distance athlete who hails from Dera Bassi, a small town on the Chandigarh-Delhi national highway. He qualified for the 2012 London Olympics by finishing fifth in the Asian 20km Race Walking Championships at Nomi City, Japan with a timing of 1 hour 22 minutes and 12 seconds. His timing was a good 18 seconds ahead of the 'A' qualification standard for the London Games. On his way to the Asian Championships, he won the Indian trials at Patiala where he clocked a commendable 1 hour 22 minute and 1 second. He joins his compatriots Gurmeet Singh and Babubhai Panocha in the 20km race walking event.
