Career Highlights: British sailor Andrew Simpson will be looking for a second Olympic Gold medal at London 2012. After enjoying success in the Finn class with a silver medal at the 2001 European Championships and bronze at the 2003 Worlds, Simpson switched to the Star class to team up with Iain Percy. World and European bronze medals in 2007 saw the pair go into the Beijing Olympics as one of the medal contenders and they claimed gold – resulting in Simpson receiving an MBE in the Queen’s honours list. Percy and Simpson took a break from Star sailing after their Games success, but returned with a European silver in 2009 and World gold in 2010. A silver at the Hyeres World Championships earlier in 2012 suggests that the pair will have a strong chance of winning another medal, although the Brazilian boat will be one to watch.
