  • Career Highlights: Two-time world champion Alex Gregory is a key part of Great Britain’s men’s four squad for London. Injury ensured that Gregory missed out on a place in the Beijing Olympics, although he was in the country as a reserve to watch the fours win gold. Forcing his way into the boat for the 2009 season alongside three Olympic medallists, they won the 2009 World Series and beat favourites Australia to gold at the World Championships in Poznan. Alongside Matthew Langridge, Richard Egington and Tom James, he won gold in the 2011 World Cup series in both Munich and Lucerne and beat Greece and Australia to gold at the 2011 World Championships in Slovenia. At the GB Senior Trials at Eton in 2011, Gregory won silver alongside Tom James in the men’s pair, cementing his status as a key member of the team for London. Australia, France and New Zealand are all strong going into the Games and will fancy their chances of beating Great Britain to gold at Dorney.
