Career Highlights: Tunney will be one of the youngest athletes in London. Now in her first year of senior competition, she was the 2011 all-around junior British champion and is seen as a rising star who could be ready to make her mark at the London Games despite her age. Coaches have been trying to get Tunney as much senior international experience as possible with the Olympics approaching, and she was added to the Olympic test event in January, which gave her exposure to competing in major arenas (the O2 in London and Madison Square Garden in New York). She qualified for the finals in the uneven bars at the test event at the O2. Tunney's lack of experience was evident at the prestigious American Cup in March at MSG, as she finished eighth and last in all-around against a stacked field of likely Olympians and fellow up-and-comers. Though raw, her seemingly effortless agility and athleticism makes her formidable in all disciplines and she could prove a threat in any of them to her more high-profile competitors.
