  • Country: Czech Republic
  • Sport: Cycling
  • Height: 6'2" / 1.88m
  • Weight: 168 lbs / 76.2 kg
  • Born: 1/8/1985
  • Career Highlights: Kulhavy has seen success at just about every level of the mountain bike circuit with one glaring exception: the Olympic stage. A 2011 world champion with national and European titles under his belt as well, Kulhavy made his Olympic debut in Beijing four years ago, finishing 18th. That was a far cry from 2003, when his career got off to such a promising start by capturing both the national and European junior championships. However, he seems to be back in form. In addition to his titles last season, he got his 2012 season off to a good start with a win in his first race at the prestigious Sunshine Cup. Though Switzerland’s Nino Schuter and France’s Julien Absalon remain the top two contenders for gold in London, Kulhavy has to be mentioned in the same category based on recent success. He finished fifth in a race at the same London Olympic course last year. Though he is one of the top mountain bikers in the world, Kulhavy has hinted that he might make the switch to road racing following the summer.
  • Previous Olympics: 2008
