- Career Highlights: A first-time Olympian, Zhang won gold at the World Weightlifting Championships last November by the slimmest of margins. He was beaten in the snatch by North Korea’s Un Guk Kim, but lifted more in the clean and jerk to finish with an aggregate of 321 kilos - one more than Kim, who took silver. Competing in his current weight class in 2010, Zhang was a gold medal winner at the world championships and Asian Games.
