- Country: United States
- Sport: Volleyball
- Height: 6'8" / 2.03m
- Weight: 201 lbs / 91.2 kg
- Born: 5/15/1985
- Hometown: Saugus, CA, USA
- Career Highlights: A somewhat surprising inclusion to the roster for his first U.S. Olympic appearance, Smith likely will provide front-line depth and also brings a rare attribute for a middle blocker - a jump serve. He was a steady contributor off the bench throughout World League play this year, helping the U.S. to a finals appearance in July in the Olympic tune-up event. Smith played for France’s Tours at the club level last season, helped the U.S. to a third-place finish at the London Volleyball International Invitational and was the second-highest U.S. scorer en route to a second-place finish at the 2011 Pan American Cup. He plays with hearing aids since he was born with hearing loss. Smith, who played collegiately at UC-Irvine, also has played professionally for Spain’s Unicaja Almeria and Puerto Rico’s San Sebastian.
- Previous Olympics: None
