Career Highlights: Houchin will compete in the 800 freestyle relay in London after finishing sixth in the 200 freestyle at the U.S. Olympic trials. This will be the first Olympic appearance for Houchin after he took 43rd in the 400 freestyle, 62nd in the 1,500 freestyle, tied for 69th in the 200 butterfly and 77th in the 200 freestyle at the 2008 trials. Houchin, a former Michigan standout, earned four varsity letters with the Wolverines and was a two-time All-American, finishing fourth in the 800 freestyle relay as a senior and fifth in that event as a senior. Houchin was also named All-Big Ten his final two years. His parents, Jane and Edward, were both All-American swimmers at North Carolina State, while his brother, Joe, swam at George Mason.
