Career Highlights: A website and graphic designer, Hostetler worked for the project management team for the 2012 U.S. Olympic track trials, though that wasn't his only impact in Eugene. The University of Oregon graduate and Oregon native finished fifth in the javelin throw at the trials, but that was good enough to earn one of three spots on the Olympic team with the top two finishers not possessing an "A" standard throw. One of his attempts was thrown so hard that the javelin snapped in midair, an impressive show of strength from the two-time All-American made even more astounding by the fact that he was competing on a bum knee. A knee injury for Hostetler is nothing new, though. He tore two ligaments playing basketball in 2009, then returned a year later and suffered additional torn ligaments and a meniscus tear at the USA outdoor championships. He'll hope to stay upright long enough to compete in London.
