  • Career Highlights: Peszek will experience his first Olympics this summer, nine years after he tried out for the team at the University of Michigan "as a way to be competitive and stay in shape." Peszek won the pairs with Silas Stafford at the U.S. trials after they were the last two cut from the eights boat, beating 2011 Pan-Am champs Mike Gennaro and Robert Otto. Peszek, who teamed with Stafford on the fourth-place finishing eights boat at the 2007 under-23 world championships, took ninth in the pair last year at the world championships to help the U.S. earn an Olympic spot in that event. A year earlier at the worlds, Peszek finished sixth in the eights.
