  • Career Highlights: Cole will make his Olympic debut in London, joining Scott Gault, Glenn Ochal and Henrik Rummel on the fours crew. Cole and Gault helped that boat qualify for the Games by finishing fourth at the 2011 world championships. Cole, named USRowing’s Athlete of the Year in 2011, took sixth in the eights at the 2010 worlds and fifth in the pair at the 2009 worlds. While at Yale, the native of New Caanan, Conn., won a bronze medal in the freshman eights at the 2004 Intercollegiate Rowing Association championship and took sixth at the varsity eight at that event in 2006. At the world U-23 championships in 2008, Cole won gold in the eights. Cole, who earned a MSc in Nature, Society, and Environmental Policy from Oxford University in 2008, co-founded Millstone Academic Counseling with fellow U.S. team member, Jake Cornelius.
