  • Career Highlights: Bashore-Smedley was not part of the 2011 Pan American Games gold medal-winning team after suffering a head injury prior to the competition, but it did not keep her from being named to the London squad. She brings previous Olympics experience, having helped the U.S. to an eighth-place finish at the 2008 Games in Beijing. Bashore-Smedley was named to the U.S. Under-21 team in 2004 and the senior national team two years later before contributing to a second-place finish at the 2007 Pan Am Games. The midfielder had a successful career at Indiana, earning All-Big Ten honors all four years.
