Panthers G Theodore out for Game 6 vs. Devils

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Florida goaltender Jose Theodore was scratched from Game 6 of the Panthers' first-round Eastern Conference playoff series with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night with an undisclosed injury.

Theodore did not take part in the morning skate and was not on the ice when the Panthers began their skate 30 minutes before the game.

Scott Clemmensen led the team on the ice with Jacob Markstrom dressed as the backup.

Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said earlier in the day that Theodore was not 100 percent and would be a game-time decision.

Theodore shut out the Devils 3-0 in Game 5 Saturday to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Clemmensen, a former Devil, picked up his first postseason victory in Game 3, replacing Theodore after the Panthers fell behind 3-0.Florida won the game 4-3. Clemmensen was in goal for Game 4, a 4-0 loss.

The Panthers recalled Markstrom from San Antonio of the AHL Tuesday. He played in seven games with Florida this season, going 2-4-1.
