Funeral for ex-Canadiens captain Butch Bouchard
LONGUEUIL, Quebec (AP) Montreal Canadiens greats are gathering to remember one of their own.
Longtime captain Emile "Butch" Bouchard died a week ago at 92. The funeral for the four-time Stanley Cup winner is being held at a church in Longueuil along the St. Lawrence River.
The defenseman scored 49 goals in 785 games during his 15-year NHL career. He was Montreal's captain for eight seasons - two of them championship years - before retiring in 1956.
