Scouting Report |
40 time: 5.38 Projection: Seventh Round-Priority Free Agent Overview: Five-year starter thanks to an extra year of eligibility, walks away with 52 total starts during his time with the Illini. Lowe's career isn't one high on accolades as he only earned All-Big Ten honorable mention twice, but he proved a consistent performer for the Illinois offense. Strengths: Good size and length for the position, and his 34 7/8" arms give him some leeway with his technique. Hands are strong and accurate enough to latch on and steer defenders. Sturdy lower body strength and balance to lock in against bull rushers. Stays calm even if he loses position as a pass blocker. Weaknesses: Moves more like a guard than a tackle and doesn't have ideal lateral quickness to mirror opponents. Lacks the range to swivel around on reach blocks and consistently beat defenders in space. Power in the run game is more gradual than immediate. Not a knockout puncher when he lands against linebackers. Pro Comp: Justin Senior, Free Agent -- Senior's combination of size and strong hands helped him get drafted but he struggled to stay in the league long term. |
