Scouting Report

Among the first players announced as invited to the 2019 Senior Bowl, Adderley is viewed by many as the year's elite "small school" prospect. He started every game the past four seasons - the first two at cornerback, the final two at free safety - earning all-conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was also honored as a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award (the top overall player in the FCS) in 2018.

Adderley capped his career in style, recording a personal best 87 tackles and leading his team with four interceptions and seven passes defensed. He showed off his versatility against New Hampshire with a 92-yard kick return for a touchdown, trucking a would-be tackler along the way.

Ideal build for the position with broad shoulders, long arms and a tapered frame. Legitimate NFL athlete, with impressive initial quickness, change of direction and acceleration - including impressive closing speed when delivering tackles. Above average speed is enhanced further due to stellar instincts, forged by starting 40-plus games over his college career. Good route awareness and timing to break up passes, flashing the ability to make the remarkable catch.

Plays bigger than his listed size, routinely delivering aggressive (but clean) hits and throwing his body into the pile or to take out would-be blockers with little regard for his own welfare. Reliable form tackler adept at taking out the legs of ballcarriers in the open field when unable to line up a direct hit. High effort player, including on special teams.

Adderley showed toughness in fighting through a high ankle sprain in 2018 to play in every game of his career, including the Senior Bowl, although he did not participate in the Combine while rehabbing. He also possesses athletic bloodlines. His cousin, Herb Adderley, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a cornerback in 1980, winning three Super Bowls with the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
