American-style football is an increasingly international game with at least a handful of draftable prospects each year arriving with more marks on their passports than on their high school helmets.
Take the Danish-born Froholdt (full name pronounced Yell-duh Fro-holt) who first came to America as a sophomore foreign-exchange student in high school. He fell in love with the game and, after spending his junior year back in Denmark, opted to return for his senior season at the internationally recognized IMG Academy in Florida.
Froholdt turned heads at IMG playing for former Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke, earning scholarship offers from many of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame. He initially played defensive tackle for the Razorbacks, recording three tackles in limited duty as a true freshman in 2015 before making the transition to the offensive side of the ball before his sophomore season.
Froholdt would go on to start every game the next three seasons, spending most of his time at left guard (including all of the 2016-17 seasons) with a few games at center during his senior season (including the first three games of the year.
Though most of his career was spent at left guard, Froholdt's unusual frame could push him inside to center in the NFL. While listed at 6-5, he looks and plays shorter with a relatively long torso and thick, stubby limbs including just 31 1/4" arms. While this could be an issue outside, inside it can be an advantage with the naturally low center of gravity making Froholdt potentially quite strong and balanced - when, that is, he keeps his pad level down and his hands up to attack the chest of opponents.
Froholdt does not surrender if initially beaten but along with his unusual frame, he is just an average athlete. According to his official bio at Arkansas, Froholdt did not surrender a single sack the past two seasons, though he did allow plenty of pressures.
