Scouting Report
Playing in Paul Johnson's triple-option offense, Hill only caught 49 passes in three seasons with the Yellow Jackets. But he had 28 for 820 yards and five TDs during his breakout junior season. There are some who questioned his decision to pass up his senior year, but Hill opened a lot of eyes and worked his way up plenty of draft boards with his spectacular effort at the NFL combine. He tied for the fastest 40-yard dash (4.36 seconds), had the longest broad jump (11 feet, 1 inch), tied for fourth in the vertical jump (39.5 inches) and was tied for 10th in the 3-cone drill (6.88 seconds). Hill has above-average hands and great leaping ability, but he needs to improve his concentration to avoid drops. Hill can be tough to bring down, yet some additional strength is needed for him to compete on Sundays. There are also concerns about his route-running abilities, but Hill has shown an impressive willingness to block. Much like former Georgia Tech wideout Demaryius Thomas, who turned into a first-round pick after posting outstanding numbers during his junior season in 2009, Hill could find himself off the board during the first 32 selections on draft day.
