| Whitehead had an outstanding four-year run at Temple, recording 163 tackles, seven sacks, seven forced fumbles and one interception. Four of those forced fumbles came his senior year in helping the Owls finish 9-4 following a 37-15 victory over Wyoming in the New Mexico Bowl. Whitehead doesn't have the ideal size to play at the next level, but he has a good motor and could be a solid two-down linebacker or special teams player on Sundays. Whitehead can sometimes be overwhelmed by tight ends, but he's not afraid to compete and use his hands and arm strength to slow them down at the line of scrimmage. While Whitehead could be a liability in coverage, he possesses good inside tackle skills and uses a quick first step in pursuit - he ran a 4.70 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. He finished the 3-cone drill in 7.14 seconds, the 20-yard shuttle in 4.37 and showed off an impressive vertical leap at the showcase at 37 inches. Whitehead has potential to make an NFL roster, but will likely be a late-round pick or free agent pickup. |
