| Abreu spent five seasons at Rutgers, playing 13 games his final season while starting 10. He recorded 28 tackles - six for a loss - and had three sacks in 2011. Abreu played at linebacker his first four seasons before switching to defensive end in 2011, when coach Greg Schiano tried to make the defense faster, a versatility in his game that will draw added interest. However, Abreu would most likely be used as a defensive end at the next level. He has a strong upper body and is able to fight through initial contact, although he is not a dominating physical player and his skills at that position still must be refined. Abreu has a good initial burst of speed, but he is not as effective as a pass rusher and doesn't have great on-field vision. Abreu was also injury prone during his career, but he could find a role on special teams at the next level as an undrafted free agent given his experience. |
