| Though his team finished 4-8 and tied for last in the Pac-12 South Division with two conference wins, Foles bounced back from a 2010 knee injury to set career highs in completions (387), attempts (560), passing yards (4,334), touchdowns (28) and completion percentage (69.1) during his senior season. In a conference that featured Stanford's Andrew Luck and Southern Cal's Matt Barkley, Foles led the Pac-12 in completions and yards, but was second with a career-high 14 interceptions. The three-time all-conference honorable mention selection was 41 of 53 for a season-high 425 yards with four TDs and two interceptions during a 48-41 loss at USC on Oct. 1. He finished his college career as Arizona's all-time leader in yards (10,047), attempts (1,394) and completions (935). Though Foles put up some big numbers in a pass-first system with the Wildcats, it's unlikely he'll get drafted before the third round. He might even slip into the third day of the draft after a poor 5.14-second performance in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine - the worst of the 14 quarterbacks who participated and the only one over 5 seconds. He also failed to stand out when he threw the ball in Indianapolis, displaying slow feet while struggling with his accuracy on deep passes. Despite his poor overall effort at the combine, Foles has the physical traits to be a serviceable NFL quarterback who is capable of competing for a starting job. |
