Scouting Report
Holt finished second on California in his senior season with 82 tackles, 10 1/2 for loss, while adding two sacks in being selected all-Pac-12 honorable mention by the league's coaches. As a junior in 2010, he totaled a personal-best 85 tackles and picked up the first two sacks of his career while forcing three fumbles - the only three during his four years at California - and recovering one. Considered one of the top 15 inside linebackers available in this year's draft, Holt has solid instincts and is a strong tackler, but he isn't versatile and doesn't possess the speed of other top players at his position. His success as a senior was aided by playing alongside fellow inside linebacker Mychal Hendricks, who led the Golden Bears with 107 tackles and was named Pac-12 defensive player of the year. Holt likely won't be a major contributor right away in the NFL, but he could prove to be a valuable backup while also making an impact on special teams. He is likely to be selected in the later rounds of the draft.
