| Ganaway was a starter for only one season but made that count in a big way. After spending two years at two different schools, Ganaway found a home at Baylor, where he set or tied 13 school records as a senior. Among those marks were 1,587 yards and 21 rushing TDs for a prolific Bears offense led by Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. Ganaway also scored a school-record 132 points, with 30 coming in a 67-56 win over Washington in the Alamo Bowl. Those five touchdowns - over the final 24 minutes - and his 200 yards on 21 carries, which included scoring runs of 89 and 43, helped him earn offensive MVP in that victory. He also earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in his third season at Baylor. Ganaway was originally recruited to Houston by current Bears coach Art Briles and had 550 yards as a freshman. He left the program following Briles' departure to Waco and the death of his mother from kidney cancer. Ganaway then spent one year at Texarkana College in Texas but did not play football. In his first two seasons at Baylor, he ran for a combined 542 yards and seven TDs, so he entered his final season with little wear. While he was a key part of the Bears' offense in 2011, Ganaway caught only six passes as a senior and had 12 receptions for 133 yards in his career. He also has just average speed for a back, running a 4.67 40-yard dash at the combine, but above-average size. Ganaway helped himself in Indianapolis by finishing with the third-best vertical leap among running backs (37.5 inches), but didn't really shine at the Senior Bowl with 18 yards on five carries and two catches for eight yards. |
