Jordan Crawford

Scouting Report

After two collegiate seasons at two different schools, Crawford confirmed his draft intentions one day before the deadline when he hired Chicago-based agent Mark Bartelstein. Crawford averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a freshman at Indiana (2007-08) before transferring to Xavier. After he sat out 2008-09, Crawford excelled in his only season with the Musketeers. The Detroit native averaged 20.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists this season, leading Xavier to a share of its fourth straight Atlantic 10 title. Crawford, who led the conference in scoring, was at his best during the NCAA tournament when he averaged 29.0 points in three games. He scored a career-high 32 in a double-overtime loss to Kansas State in the regional semifinals. Though Crawford was accustomed to scoring often on the collegiate level, he's likely to find success in the NBA as a role-playing guard who can come off the bench and deliver a spark with his long-range shooting. He was among the Atlantic 10 leaders in 3-pointers made (79) and percentage (39.1). Crawford, though, must improve on the defensive end so he doesn't continue to be labeled a one-dimensional player. While Crawford's stock rose after his NCAA tournament performance, he's unlikely to be picked before the early portion of the second round.
