| Strengths: Skills of a smaller wing player with vision as a passer and a nose for the ball as a rebounder. Elite-level shot-blocking ability with 7-foot-4 wingspan and quickness to read and shift laterally from off-ball. Shot 39 percent from 3-point range and had a 1-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (61 of each) in a high-volume possession offense. Can bring the ball up the court and cause matchup problems with his height and shooting range. Energetic away from the ball. Moves to the action and can quickly read, react and find open lanes to shoot or pass. Unselfish with and without the ball. Can be tenacious to the point of overaggressive play. Teams must decide whether being the antithesis to a traditional big is a decided strength or fatal flaw. |
| Weaknesses: Lighter than some point guards at 195 pounds and defending on the ball is complicated by his leverage disadvantage and minimal bulk. Foul-prone when he doesn't use his feet and frame to recover. Leaves his feet when not necessary in iso situations. Likely to be defined as jack-of-all-trades or a lengthy shooter in the NBA, but didn't seek his own shot often at Gonzaga. Had 20 games with 10 or fewer shot attempts. Durability will be a projection over a longer, more demanding pro schedule on his peculiar pro frame. |
