NBA Draft

Jalen Suggs

Scouting Report

OVERVIEW
Suggs spent only one season at Gonzaga, but it will not soon be forgotten by college hoops fans. He embraced the biggest moments, hitting a 37-footer to send Gonzaga into the national title game, not to mention making multiple other clutch plays for the Bulldogs as they enjoyed a record season. Suggs finished with 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 30 games.
ANALYSIS
Positives: Suggs is a pleasure to watch. He lives for the biggest moments, but he also competes on every possession and never takes a play off. He is a great athlete with good-enough height and a strong, powerful foundation. He can create off the dribble and attack the rim, and his defensive mindset will be an asset to any organization. It's hard to imagine that he slips past the top four picks, and he could go as high as No. 2.
Negatives: The main thing Suggs needs to work on is the consistency of his jump shot, and that is to be expected for a recently turned 20-year-old with one year of college experience. There is little reason to doubt that Suggs can improve, but he still needs to do it, as he shot 33.7 percent from beyond the arc with the Bulldogs.
