Scouting Report
| Davis had one of the most spectacular rises of the college basketball season. After coming off the bench as a freshman, Davis grabbed hold of a starting job with Wisconsin and ran with it, ultimately averaging 19.7 points plus 8.2 rebounds per game as a shooting guard. |
| He truly lit up the college game at times, once going for 37 points and 14 rebounds in a Badgers win over then-No. 3 Purdue. Wisconsin reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where Davis came one rebound shy of a double-double but also went 0-for-7 from 3-point range. |
| A consensus first-team All-American, Davis also won one national player of the year award, the Lute Olson Award. There was nothing left for him to prove at the collegiate level. He declared for the draft, and now there's real momentum for Davis to be a top-10 pick. |
| Strengths: A good cutter who can knock down shots, but especially from mid-range. Plays aggressively. Praised for his defensive hustle on top of his scoring prowess. Tremendous rebounding numbers for someone at his position. Posts up. Has some international experience, helping the Americans win the gold medal at the 2021 FIBA U-19 World Cup, which undoubtedly helped his game. |
| Weaknesses: Streaky and inefficient shooter. Went just 30.6 percent from 3-point range and 42.7 percent overall from the field last season. Negative assist-to-turnover ratio last season (2.1-2.3). At 6-foot-5, 195 pounds, he's tall enough but needs to build out his frame. |
