| Williams was a first-team All-West Coast Conference selection while averaging 18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 33 games last season. He had 12 efforts of 20 or more points. |
| Williams was a finalist for the Lou Henson Award, which goes to the nation's top mid-major player. He raised his scoring average 6.5 points from his sophomore season. |
| Williams figured to be chosen around the middle of the first round. There is a slight chance he could crack the lottery. |
| Strengths: He stands 6-6 and his wingspan was measured at 7-2 at the combine, a toolsy combination that will get him consideration despite some limitations. He also is built like an NBA player with a pro-ready frame. Though he was a wing for the Broncos, he played point guard in high school and handles the ball like a point forward. He improved his 3-point shooting, making 39.6 percent last season after hitting just 27.4 as a sophomore. Has good instincts and high intelligence who gives a strong effort on the defensive end. |
| Weaknesses: While athletic, he doesn't have the top-notch speed or explosiveness laterally to match up with elite NBA wings. His lateral speed is definitely a concern defending NBA-caliber shooting guards. Isn't always on the mark when closing out on shooters. Rebounding could be an issue for him at the professional level. He may not be able to drive the lane as effectively as he did in college. It's possible he could start as a rookie but he would be better served by coming off the bench and developing his game more. |
