| Intelligent point guard played 131 college games in two years at Florida and two seasons at Gonzaga. Averaged 10.0 points, 5.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds in the four years. |
| Last season, Nembhard averaged 11.8 points, 5.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds for the Zags. He was a first-team All-West Coast Conference selection and set a school NCAA Tournament record with 11 assists versus Georgia State. |
| Nembhard made 150 career 3-pointers but his success rate was just 34.3 percent. Last season, he made a career-high 51. |
| Strengths: The 6-5 Nembhard is a standout floor leader with stellar court vision. His passing ability is top-notch and his high basketball IQ allows him to anticipate situations and movements on the floor. He plays all-out most of the time and figures to adapt quickly to the NBA pace. Had a stellar assist-to-turnover ratio of nearly 3 to 1 last season. He is a solid defender (162 college steals) who can be a pest on the defensive end. Had a strong showing at the combine and that has pushed him up into the bottom of the second round. |
| Weaknesses: Scoring is not his specialty as he only averaged double digits in two of his four college campaigns. It isn't likely that he will suddenly develop into one at the NBA level as he turns 23 in January. His perimeter shooting isn't going to scare defenders. Though he is a true point guard, his speed and athleticism is suspect when compared to NBA point guards. That athleticism issue will make it hard for him to drive for hoops. Nembhard likely isn't more than a backup but could stick in the league for several years due to intangibles. |
