Scouting Report

When a player is described as freakishly athletic, as Mokoka is, that will earn you a nice long look, even if the stats don't always match up with the skills. That's the case on both counts with Mokoka, who averaged 11.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists while playing just over 27 minutes per night for his team in the Adriatic Basketball Association.
Mokoka could stand to be a bit more efficient with his shot. He made just 42.6 percent from the field, 31.9 percent on 3-pointers and 66.7 percent at the foul line, numbers that will work against him if he's trying to earn more consistent playing time at the next level. But his 6-10 wingspan and appetite to work hard on the defensive end stand out like a blinking yellow light at a school crossing.
Mokoka's physique passes the eye test, as does his effort. His strength offensively is driving to the bucket, as he's shown the ability to finish in traffic and even throw down the occasional highlight-film dunk over a big man. Scouts rave about his on-ball defense and love how he uses his wingspan, plus above-average lateral quickness, to smother his man.
There are flaws in his game, most of which can be fixed over time. He isn't yet a good passer; he can't consistently make a pass two passes away that scrambles the defense and leads to bad rotations. Mokoka can be forced to turn the ball over and needs to develop his left hand. He could be a second round selection, or he could wind up undrafted.
Projection: Second Round/Free Agent
